Contests, Awards and Scholarships

Key Clubs across Georgia are serving their homes, schools and communities through incredible service projects, raising money for worthy charities and developing strong, passionate and caring leaders.

Key Club International and the Georgia District have developed contests, awards and scholarships to award Key Clubs, individual members and advisors that truly demonstrate excellence through service.

Information on this page is available to guide clubs through applying for all contests and scholarships that are available.

The following contests are available to apply.

Key Club International Awards

The following awards are created by Key Club International to award outstanding Key Clubs. In order to compete on the International level, clubs must first compete on the District level. The following award applications must be presented and properly submitted online by February 4, 2024.

The following award is given to Key Clubs that exhibit excellence across all facets of Key Club International, including community service, participation in District and International events, fundraising and Kiwanis-family relations. Clubs are encouraged to use the award criteria to plan out a successful Key Club year:

The following awards are given to Key Clubs that successfully complete and highlight an outstanding service project:

Key Club International is excited to announce the creation of the Signature Project Contest. Each year, Key Club will recognize clubs for recurring service projects that make a positive impact on communities. The top project in each club size category will be recognized at the annual Key Club International convention. 
Signature projects are service projects that a club conducts at least annually — and for which it has become known in its community and on campus.  A project must occur annually for the past three to five years.* (Clubs that have recently started a new project that will recur, or conducted a one-time project, should consider entering our “Single Service” contest.) 

Key Club International Contests

The following contests are created to award talented, inspiring and creative Key Club members of the Georgia District. The forms for these awards/contests must be submitted by the dates listed on the form. All members participating must officially register with the conference. Only winners of these contests may go on to represent the Georgia District in the corresponding Key Club International Contests. 

Non-Digital Poster Contest - Form must be submitted at SLC registration on March 8, 2024 along with the poster.

Digital Poster Contest - Form must be submitted at SLC registration on March 8, 2024 along with a printed copy of the poster.

Year in Review- Traditional Scrapbook Contest - Form must be submitted at SLC registration on March 8, 2024 along with physical scrapbook.

Digital Scrapbook Contest- Form must be submitted by SLC registration on March 8, 2024. 

Oratorical Contest - Form must be completed by March 8, 2024


2024 Oratory Topic:  
While Key Club is only for teens, it undoubtedly leaves you a legacy for the rest of your life. What lessons has Key Club taught you that will transcend your time in school and help guide you in the future?

Talent Contest- Form must be submitted along with any links to music by 8am on March 8, 2024

Club Video Contest- Form must be submitted along with link to the video by 8am on March 8, 2024

District Contests

The following contests are created to award talented, inspiring and creative Key Club members of the Georgia District.  All members participating must officially register with the convention. 

Club T-shirt Contest- Form must be submitted by 8am on March 8, 2024. The club should bring one size medium or large sample shirt to be judged to the SLC Registration desk. 

Essay Contest- Form must be submitted by 8am on March 8, 2024. Clubs may enter one student for the contest which will take place onsite.

District Awards

All District Award forms must be completed by February 4, 2024.

This following contest awards the top Key Clubs that raise the most money per member. Projects include: UNICEF (The Eliminate Project), Thirst Project, Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Home, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and March of Dimes

Fundraising Excellence Award

The following award is for clubs that have participated in service projects involving the 3 preferred charities of Key Club International and the Georgia District: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, March of Dimes, the Thirst Project and UNICEF. 

Service Excellence Award

The following award is for clubs that have participated in an awareness and fundraising project for the Georgia District Project: the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes:

The following awards are for outstanding adult advisors for Georgia Key Clubs:

John C. Thompson Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor Award

The following award is to recognize the Key Clubs who have outstanding social media profiles highlighting their club:

Social Media Award

The following awards recognize outstanding Key Club officers that go above and beyond the call of duty for their respective positions. In addition, the Walter Daven Stapleton Scholarship ($1,000) is awarded to one of the graduating seniors recognized as a Distinguished Club Officer.

The following award is to recognize clubs or individual members that demonstrate incredible service to their homes, schools and communities:

The following award is given to an individual Key Club member in the Georgia District that has exemplified everything that Key Club stands for. Nominations for this award can be made by a Key Club member, Faculty Advisor, Kiwanian or school official:

J. Marion Brantley Most Outstanding Key Clubber Award

 

District Scholarships

The following scholarship application is for scholarships that will be awarded to senior Key Club members in the Georgia District.  Up to four (4) $1000 scholarships will be awarded at the 2024 Service & Leadership Conference (SLC). All scholarship applications must be submitted online by February 4, 2024.
