As we enter summer break, it is always important to give back and support our communities. While on breaks we often forget to show support and build up the things around us and help out by showcasing a Key Club mindset. There are a variety of ways that you can help out your community, two of those being to volunteer and fundraise while you are away from school. Doing these things can make a positive impact on the people around you.

Volunteering

During the summer you may be presented with a bigger variety of activities to help support your community such as: volunteering at summer camps, helping out at local shelters, cleaning up your neighborhood, and donating items to those in need. These simple acts can help bring the community together and spread a feeling of fellowship while doing something good for your town or city! It is important to give back to your community and help support those who are working to make our areas a better environment to live in.

Fundraising

When it comes to fundraising there are local options that you can choose from such as bake sales and car washes, but you may also want to do things like spirit nights and partnering with brands or companies to help sell items. During the summer, you can expect lots of heat, so to take advantage of that you can work with frozen yogurt and ice cream shops too! Activities like car washes can not only allow fellow Key Clubbers to bond with each other and have fun in the sun but also help each club raise money.

This summer you can allow these opportunities to shape your mindset and build leadership in yourself. Never forget to share the joy and experiences that you make and always enjoy the opportunities that you have to support not just your friends and family but anyone that you meet or help!
