As a high school student, you may have a hectic life. From going to sports practice every day, to late-night studying for tests, there are a lot of things that can cause stress. But first of all, what is stress? The World Health Organization states that stress is “...a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.” It is natural for one to feel stressed, and sometimes a little stress is good. However, when you are overworked, the stress turns into a problem. To ensure this doesn't occur, try doing things that help you calm down, like working out or reading a book. Additionally, take some time out of your day to make an organized schedule to make sure you are managing your time wisely. Calendars help you with special deadlines and dates, so you can start planning ahead.
Many of you may possibly be very active within Key Club. This is a good thing whether you are an officer making plans for your club, or a member helping out at a community event. However, you should make sure you maintain a good work-life balance while being in Key Club. Overloading yourself with work will not help to get the job done, rather it is counterproductive. Make sure you have time allotted to participate in activities that you like or to spend time with your family. This will also help keep your mind calmer and less stressed so you can tackle more work in Key Club, or anything else.
