Planning Service Projects

Service projects are what truly make Key Club shine as a whole. They give our members the

opportunity to go out and help our community. By initiating things such as community clean-ups or food drives, our members gain valuable hands-on opportunities to serve and support those around them.

Hosting an unforgettable service project is all about preparation. Laying out a clear plan up front is the best way to keep your team organized and prepared for any hiccups that may occur

during the project.

There are several components that go into planning a service project. You would first want to

clearly evaluate who or what group this service project is going to help and or assist. Outline

clear goals and objectives to achieve during the service project. Consider how much money the

project would take, if applicable, while also having a plan B just in case things don’t go as

expected. A clear deadline for your goals to help with time management is a necessity. Communication with any organizations you may be partnered with during the project is equally important. Finally, have volunteers do what they're good at.

Many different projects can be created with this outline, ranging from community clean-ups to

creating kindness cards for people who need them, and many more. Service projects are a

great way to help your community in amazing ways!
